Tristan L. Tolman, BA, AG®, is a professional genealogist, author, editor, and publisher residing in Lehi, Utah. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family History/Genealogy from Brigham Young University, and is accredited in the Mid-Atlantic States. Tristan has been actively involved in the genealogical field for over 15 years. For nearly six years, she has worked in the extraction program of the LDS Church as a supervisor and coordinator of the extraction of genealogical records from the USA, England, Mexico, the Philippines, Italy, and Sweden. She has trained over 300 extractors in reading and extracting a variety of documents of genealogical significance. Tristan has taught the course "Introduction to Family History" (Religion 261) for BYU Continuing Education at the Orem, Utah LDS Institute. In 2004, she completed an internship at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. As an intern, Tristan worked at the US/Canada Reference Desk, helping library patrons with their genealogical questions. She enjoys consulting with people to help them learn how to do their own genealogy, so they can experience the thrill of finding their own ancestors. She specializes in Mid-Atlantic research, documenting early LDS ancestry, and preparing genealogical information for publication.
