Linda Turner

Researcher

Linda Turner, BS, AG®, is a professional researcher and lecturer, specializing in U.S. research, including Midwest, New England, and Eastern States.  She has also done extensive work in the Southern States.  She is an Accredited Genealogist in Midwest States research through the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists, internationally recognized as ICAPGen.  She especially enjoys following the migration patterns of families to their earlier origins in the United States or Europe and in tracing collateral lines of descent that create “whole-family” genealogies.

Linda is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and has served in various capacities within the Utah Genealogical Association (UGA) and Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS).  She recently retired as a member of the board of directors for UGA (2000-2004).  Past positions include Publicity Chair, 2005 Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy; Assistant Director, 2000 Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy; Chair of Publications Marketing, Federation of Genealogical Societies; Local Publicity Chair, 2000 FGS/FSGS National Conference in Salt Lake City; and Conference Chair, 1999 UGA Conference.  She has also served as chair of many other committees during her tenure with Utah Genealogical Association and currently serves as Hospitality Chair for the 2006 Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. 

Linda is a graduate of the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (8 years); the National Institute of Genealogical Research in Washington, D.C., and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.  She enjoys teaching and has lectured at various local and regional conferences.
