American Colonies

In the 17th and 18th centuries many people in the Great Britain and Germany were impoverished.  Only a handful of individuals owned most of the land and few opportunities existed for ordinary men.  When the British colonies were established in North America, brighter prospects became visible on the horizon.

Agriculture became the money maker in England's overseas plantations.   An indentured servant is one of hundreds of thousands of individuals who came to America from Europe to take advantage of these opportunities.  They worked alongside African slaves in plantations.  Few official lists of Europe’s servants were created, but Price & Associates’ well-respected genealogists can help you learn more about these folks and their origins by taking advantage of other sources.  Try anyone of our specialized research packages:
